Project HUTAN’s mission is to conserve threatened habitats and wildlife, specifically orangutans, elephants, and hornbills in Sabah, Malaysia.

We are working together to educate local communities to improve the coexistence between these threatened species and agricultural areas like palm oil plantations while improving habitats for wildlife.

Marc Ancrenaz from Project HUTAN received the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium’s prestigious Commitment to Conservation Award in 2015.
